Africa-Press – Angola. The Ombudsman’s Office and the Faculty of Law of the University of Coimbra signed, this Thursday, a cooperation protocol, for the training of Angolan staff at this Portuguese academic institution.

According to a note, the protocol was signed by the Ombudsman, Florbela Araújo, and the director of the Faculty of Law of the University of Coimbra, Jonatas Machado.

On the occasion, the director of the Faculty of Law at the University of Coimbra welcomed the signing of the agreement, having highlighted its importance for the training of Angolan professionals.

“I want to express my satisfaction with the signing of the cooperation agreement with the Angolan Ombudsman’s Office and I hope that this protocol goes from paper to work and is truly achievable, as it is an honor to facilitate the opening for the training of Angolan staff at the institution academic school that I lead”, he declared.

On the occasion, the person responsible clarified that the Faculty of Law of the University of Coimbra does not only work with matters of human rights, in particular, but with all aspects of law, which is why he hopes for future achievements in this area.

In turn, the Ombudsman thanked the Portuguese academic institution for its support, highlighting that it will greatly benefit Angolans, not only in the area of ​​human rights, but in all branches of law.

According to the visit program, Florbela Araújo will participate on Friday, in Lisbon, in the solemn handover ceremony of the network of ombudsmen and national human rights commissions of the Community of Portuguese Speaking Countries (CPLP), the take place at the premises of the Portuguese Ombudsman’s Office, in a hybrid format.

Likewise, senior staff from the Ombudsman’s Office will share experiences with technicians from the Portuguese counterpart in matters of procedural processing and complaints.
