Africa-Press – Angola. The secretary of the FNLA in the province of Huambo, José Sanji Ucuassapi, defended, this Friday, the need for the Executive to make greater investment in mechanized agriculture, to boost the national economy and combat poverty.

The politician, who spoke during the commemorative event on March 15th, Day of the Expansion of the Armed Struggle for National Liberation, said it was opportune to invest in local production and involve the population in sustainable development programs.

With these policies, he said, it will be possible to promote the growth of national production by exploring the country’s agricultural potential and, at the same time, reduce imports of basic necessities.

José Sanji Ucuassapi highlighted the need to improve the quality of teaching and the education sector, to contribute to the empowerment of Angolans, with the intention of acting with adequate knowledge in the process of implementing social and economic progress.

In the area of ​​local authorities, the politician said that it is essential to approve the Legislative Package, for its implementation, so that the population can participate in sustainable development programs, within the democratic spirit and open dialogue.

The events of March 15, 1961 marked the expansion of the armed struggle against Portuguese colonialism, which began on February 4, 1961.

The anniversary was established on August 10, 2018, following the approval, by the Angolan Parliament, of the Law to Amend the Law on National Holidays, Places and Dates of National Celebration.
