Africa-Press – Angola. The Praia National Football Team beat their Morocco counterpart 3-2 (Monday) in the second round of Group B of the 3rd edition of the COSAFA Cup, taking place in Durban, in South Africa. South.
After a triumphant debut over a similar one from Tanzania, with the same result, in a match played at the South Beach Arena, the Angolan team’s goals, against the Moroccans, were scored by Pascoal Tchitungo “Cole” (two) and Wilson Francisco.

With this result, the national team takes the lead in the series, with five (5) points, two more than Mozambique and Morocco (3). In the third and final round of the group stage, Angola faces Mozambique, on Wednesday.
In turn, the Mozambique National Team achieved, this Monday, its first victory in the competition, against Tanzania, 5-4, also in the 2nd round of Group B, after the opening defeat (5-2) against Morocco.
In this competition in the Southern Region of Africa, which takes place from the 17th to the 23rd of this month, the Angolan team aims to improve on third place, achieved in the 1st edition of 2021, in Mozambique.
The teams from Morocco and Saudi Arabia are the two invited guests of the COSAFA Cup organization, for this 2024 edition. Out of a total of eight, the teams are in two groups, of four teams. In addition to Angola’s Group B, series A includes South Africa, Malawi, Saudi Arabia and Seychelles.
The defending champion is the Senegal team, invited in 2021 by the organization and which this time fails the competition.
