Africa-Press – Angola. The president of the UNITA Parliamentary Group, Liberty Chiyaka, presented this Thursday, in Luanda, the balance of activities with the electorate in the eighteen provincial electoral districts that took place between the 8th and 18th of April, under the motto “For democracy, citizenship and inclusive development”.
Liberty Chiyaka, who was speaking at a press conference, considered the balance to be positive, despite the act of vandalism in the province of Cuando Cubango against a caravan of vehicles and physical aggression, which resulted in the injuries of eight members of the largest opposition party.
He explained that the program of activities aimed to share the deputies’ income with the most needy citizens, to observe the particularities of the political, economic and social reality of each province, as well as to consult society on the draft Organic Law on the Institutionalization of Local Authorities, of initiative of the UNITA Parliamentary Group.
According to him, the action allowed the distribution of more than 100 tons of various goods, including medicines, blankets, clothing, fertilizers and food.
He said that the tour allowed the electorate to deepen the relationship of trust between the deputy and the population.
He made it known that the party will continue to demand that State bodies exercise their role, under penalty of being held responsible.
He took the opportunity to express his appreciation for the hospitality shown and the encouragement given to continue the path of democracy in favor of building the Angolan Nation.
