Africa-Press – Angola. Around 3.1 billion kwanzas is the amount made available by Banco Angolano de Investimento (BAI), to finance social responsibility actions, announced last Wednesday, in Luanda, the president of the Executive Committee of this institution, Luís Lelis.

When speaking during the “Forbes Social Responsibility Awards Angola/ 2024” gala, the manager, quoted in a press this Thursday, said that the main objective is to finance projects with a direct impact on education, health , well-being, culture, sport and environment.

Alongside this plan, he also highlighted the BAI Foundation’s scholarship program, which benefits around 800 scholarship holders, at the Higher Institute of Administration and Finance (ISAF).

Luís Lélis also highlighted the Aldeia Osivambi Project, in the province of Cunene, where around 500 young people have the opportunity to take classes up to basic education, with the aim of reaching second cycle education.

From this perspective, he highlighted that BAI’s social responsibility program aims to “transform generations” and hopes that young people benefiting from the institution’s projects contribute to the country’s development.

With this intention, he continued, BAI shareholders approved an annual allocation of one percent (1%) of the net banking product for the previous year, for social responsibility actions.

At the Forbes Social Responsibility Awards Angola/2024 awards gala, Banco Angolano de Investimento was awarded an Honorable Mention.
