Africa-Press – Angola. The Angola-Korea Business Forum kicks off this Monday, in Seoul, with the participation of the largest and medium-sized South Korean companies interested in investing in Angola.
According to the president of the AIPEX Board of Directors, Arlindo Rangel, the meeting is a presidential initiative as part of the 48th official visit of the Head of State, João Lourenço, to the Republic of Korea.
For the person responsible, in statements to the press in Seoul, we are inviting Korean businesspeople, not to provide services in Angola, but to invest in the country and take part in the risks inherent to the process.
He explained that it is up to the Private Investment and Export Promotion Agency (AIPEX), as an arm of the State, to enhance them “to mitigate some of the existing and known risks”.
He informed that all investments are good for the country, but Angola’s strategy is defined for food security and all sectors that surround it, and South Korea is strong in these areas.
At the aforementioned forum, he said, Angola’s potential will be presented and South Koreans will be invited to invest, highlighting that the investor’s decision does not happen on the first day, it takes time.
The relationship, he said, with investors from the Republic of Korea begins with President João Lourenço’s visit to this country and it is now up to AIPEX to continue it.
Business environment
Arlindo Rangel admitted that the business environment in Angola is not yet desirable, but the path is being made and where there are difficulties, the institution will help to mitigate them.
It guaranteed that Angola is one of the most stable countries in Africa, in political and social terms, and the existing legislation defends local and foreign investors.
He highlighted that during the visit of the President of the Republic, AIPEX will sign an agreement with its local counterpart to protect South Korean companies that want to invest in the country.

The forum aims to publicize the economic diversification strategy in Angola, publicize the economic potential and business opportunities offered by the Angolan market to South Korean private investment.
The meeting aims to share knowledge and experiences on development with a view to fostering partnership in the economic and business domain between the two countries.
Enable interaction between Angolan and South Korean economic operators, attracting investors and South Korean public and private investment, is also part of the objectives.
Between 120 and 160 people participate in the forum, aimed primarily at South Korean economic operators in sectors such as agriculture and food processing, energy and water, manufacturing industry, fisheries, tourism, health, digitalization and technological innovation, among others.
