Lessons learned from war

From the lessons learned in the long civil war, Téte António said that Angola built a doctrine of peace, which it has been putting at the service of the African continent and the United Nations, exemplifying the Luanda Roadmaps for peace in the Central African Republic (CAR) and for the easing of tension between the DRC and Rwanda, having highlighted Angola’s participation in the SADC Peace Missions in Lesotho and Mozambique.

Still with regard to peace, Angola has been holding, in collaboration with the African Union and UNESCO, the Luanda Biennial for the Culture of Peace, with three editions having already been held.

As a result of this remarkable work, recalled the Minister of Foreign Affairs, the President of the Republic, João Lourenço, was elected by his peers, Heads of State and Government of the African Union, in May 2022, in Malabo, Equatorial Guinea, Champion for Peace and Reconciliation in Africa.

Regarding the two major conflicts that currently dominate the international agenda, Téte António told those present at the lecture that Angola defends the primacy of dialogue to resolve disputes, through negotiation, saving human lives and putting an end to the humanitarian, social and economic.

In the specific case of the conflict between Israel and Palestine, he clarified that the country is in favor of a solution of two independent and sovereign States, within the framework of the relevant United Nations resolutions.

The minister also explained that Angola is located in a geopolitical zone that connects the Central and Southern regions of Africa, with a market of around 800 million consumers. To facilitate trade and the movement of people and goods in this important market, minister Téte António explained that the country has built strategic infrastructures that serve as catalysts for strengthening regional integration.
