“MPLA is much more than a Political Organization”

Africa-Press – Angola. The MPLA is much more than a simple political organization, a driving force for transformation, said the party’s first secretary, Luís Nunes, in Benguela. The politician, who was speaking on Saturday at the opening of the 12th Ordinary Meeting of the JMPLA Provincial Committee, highlighted the experience and importance that the party of “comrades” represents in satisfying the desires of the youth, from whom he expects commitment and determination to help chart the course of the country.

“The MPLA is the beating heart of an Angola that dreams big and works tirelessly for the good of all. The youth are the breeding ground for our strength, the new blood that guarantees the continuity of this struggle that makes us proud,” said Luís Nunes, highlighting that the MPLA has always been guided by solid principles and today, more than ever, it is essential to remember the importance of discipline, cohesion and respect for its ideals.

“We are at a crucial moment, in which the organic process not only renews mandates, but also renews the demands of our actions at all levels, and the militants to be elected as members of the committee, from the base to the top, must be chosen from among the best, based on each one’s merit. Only the most outstanding, disciplined and truly committed to the organization’s objectives deserve to occupy these positions,” he argued. Every militant of the party, added Luís Nunes, must understand that occupying a leadership position within the MPLA should not mean looking at the position as a matter of vanity or ambition, but a serious responsibility, which demands unwavering dedication and, above all, discipline.

For the first secretary of the MPLA in Benguela, there is no room in the party for uncoordinated or selfish actions, arguing that the strength of the political organization lies in its unity, which depends on its internal discipline.

“Therefore, each of us has the duty to place the organization’s objectives above any impulsiveness or individual desire. Only in this way will we ensure the continuity of our struggle and build a better future for everyone,” he assured.

Luís Nunes also said that it is important for everyone to understand that, in a party with the greatness and responsibility of the MPLA, discipline is a fundamental pillar.

“There is no progress and cohesion without respect for the rules that we have collectively established, and which serve to guide us in achieving our objectives. Let us be examples of discipline, cohesion and social credibility. Only with these virtues can we achieve the objectives that our glorious MPLA has set for the future of our province, in particular, and of the country, in general”, he maintained.

The MPLA politician also highlighted that the organization is strong because “we are united, disciplined and we respect the guidelines issued by the competent structures of our organization”, clarifying that discipline is not just a duty. “It is the foundation that sustains us. And with it we will continue to lead the way towards an increasingly strong, unbeatable party that faces challenges and struggles, always with the certainty of victory”, he assured.

Renewal at JMPLA

The MPLA First Secretary also highlighted the revitalization of the long history of the JMPLA, with the approach of the IX Ordinary Congress of the party’s youth organization.

“We are aware that organic processes play a role of capital importance for the organization of our party, in this specific case of the JMPLA, as it allows us to balance the actions developed throughout the mandate that will now end”, observed the first secretary of the MPLA in the province of Benguela.
