Africa-Press – Angola. Participants in the First Extraordinary Ministerial Session of the Specialized Technical Committee on Defence, Protection and Security of the Peace Council of the Economic Community of Central African States (ECCAS) were informed this Friday about the political and security situation in the Member States in of armed conflicts.

At the event, which ended today, participants were also informed about the engagement of countries in electoral processes, namely Angola, Cameroon, Republic of Congo, Central African Republic, Democratic Republic of Congo, São Tomé and Príncipe and Chad.

Member States were also informed about the Report on the work of the Chiefs of General Staff, the General Commanders of the Police and Gendarmerie and the Senior Officials of the Ministries of the ECCAS Peace and Security Council.

The opening ceremony was marked by the chairman of the ECCAS Commission, Gilberto da Piedade Veríssimo, and the Minister of Regional Integration and Francophonie of the DRC and chairman of the ECCAS Council of Ministers, Didier Mukanzu, according to a statement from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
