Africa-Press – Angola. The minister of Public Administration, Labor and Social Security, Teresa Dias, said this Sunday (1) that the Angolan Executive will continue to promote initiatives to strengthen active employment policies, based on the design and increase of jobs.

In a press release alluding to Labor Day (May 1), the minister says that the sector will continue to develop public policies to face the current and future challenges of the working class, always placing the improvement of working conditions as a focal point. of its achievements.

The minister underlines the fundamental instruments of governance contained in the draft law that repeals the General Labor Law (LGT).

The process, according to the minister, is a driving tool for all legal operators and represents another step towards strengthening workers’ rights.

“As part of the coordination of the Technical Study Group for the Evolution of the National Minimum Wage in Angola, it establishes an increase of around 50% in the National Minimum Wage in the different economic groupings, namely: agriculture, transport, services and the manufacturing industry”, explained.

The minister said that the facts presented are insufficient in view of the needs of workers, however, conditioned by the economic context that is the crucial element for the dynamism and elevation of the workers’ living conditions.

Teresa Dias congratulates all the workers who, even in a Covid-19 pandemic situation, have spared no effort to together mitigate the constraints caused by the same to families and the workers themselves.

In relation to the ephemeris, he stressed that it serves as a reflection for all social actors in the field of the legal-labor relationship, with the aim of improving the conditions and income of the worker.
