The nationalist Jorge Valentim appealed to the citizens to support, unconditionally, the President of the Republic, João Lourenço, in the defense of the just cause and the country’s progress, assuming an exemplary behavior and rejecting hostile propaganda, during the electoral campaign, to “embrace good causes”.
The politician, who is also a member of the Council of the Republic, the consultation body of the President of the Republic, of which the leaders of political parties with seats in the National Assembly and other figures from various strata of society are members, said that, in the current context , “it is recommended that you know how to distinguish well what to do, so as not to be carried away by slander and abuse that are directed at the authorities of our country”.
“For me, this is no longer an electoral campaign, unfortunately”, lamented Jorge Valentim, as he addressed the citizens from his residence in the Canata-Lobito neighborhood on Saturday. During his speech, he lamented the behavior of some opposition politicians, whose speeches are “violent and devoid of truth”.
Jorge Valentim said that the hostile way in which pre-campaign acts are conducted by certain opposition political parties makes no sense, and that, therefore, their leaders must defend the party colors within the law and the established order in the country. .
“I intend to actively participate in the electoral campaign in favor of João Lourenço, as I deeply know the History of Angola, through which I promise to help restore the truth of the facts that citizens need to know”, stressed Jorge Valentim, having made it known that, where there is exaggeration and misconceptions about the country’s history, I will be there to correct.
