A group of 101 women, who are dedicated to street vending, in the 11 municipalities of the province of Huambo, received, from the hands of the MPLA’s first secretary, Lotti Nolika, microcredit to boost their activities, during the Zungueira Women’s Forum, promoted by the Angolan Women’s Organization (OMA).
The delivery of the microcredit took place, on Saturday, as part of the partnership between OMA and the Solidarity Association for Assistance of Angola ASAJA, which delivered a check for 250,000 kwanzas, in which each zungueira received 15,000 kwanzas, with the prospect of reimbursement. in three months.
Lotti Nolika, who recognized the Zungueira woman’s dedication to the well-being of families and her role in the development of society and the country’s economy, underlined that the Executive will continue to pay special attention to them, taking into account the struggles they have faced on a day-to-day basis. “It is with this decent work that they educate their children, from primary to higher education, and end up being the main providers of the home”, emphasized the first secretary of the MPLA in Huambo. The holding of the forum is proof of recognition of the empowerment and conquest of women, in particular, the zungueiras, most of whom are economically active, said the also governor, for whom the need for an effective look at the issues of greater concern in their activities.
“The MPLA is doing everything to continue to facilitate a more dignified life for women zungueiras, lowering the prices of basic food products, promoting their access to medical and medication assistance, among other actions aimed at “those warriors”.
Lotti Nolika stressed that the Zungueira woman deserves the respect of the whole society, as she is a tireless entrepreneur, doing her work in a dignified way, without prejudice, dedicating herself to the sale that ensures that goods and services are closer to the citizens. .
He asked the OMA and its partners, with a view to ensuring that women zungueiras have the conditions to carry out their activities without losing their assets, and that they have, on the other hand, the possibility of integrating in order to deduct, also, for social security and ensure its reform. “We have to create these conditions, so that the zungueiras can make their contribution to the country’s development”, said Lotti Nolika.
