The president of the National Electoral Commission (CNE), Manuel da Silva, was introduced to the members of the institution this Monday, after taking office at the National Assembly.Taking the floor, Manuel da Silva listed the timely preparation of the 2027 electoral process, and the strengthening of transparency, impartiality and legality in specific electoral acts as priorities for the new five-year term.
The National Electoral Commission is the body that organizes, executes, coordinates and conducts the electoral processes. It is composed of 17 members, 16 of whom are appointed by the National Assembly, by an absolute majority of the deputies in active service.
