Africa-Press – Angola. On Friday, the Ministry of Energy and Water (MINEA) formally delivered essential materials to the Provincial Government of Cuanza-Norte, as part of the National Plan to Strengthen the Fight against and Prevention of Cholera. The delivery included Flotec tanks, motor pumps, disinfection products such as bleach, Aquatabs tablets and flexible pipes, with the aim of reinforcing immediate response actions to the epidemiological situation.
During the ceremony held at the Mucari Water Treatment Plant (ETA), the provincial deputy governor for the Political, Social and Economic Sector, Constantina Machado, said that the equipment delivered will contribute to mitigating the cholera outbreak in this region of the country.
The governor asked the population to avoid using water of dubious origin and reinforced the importance of building latrines so that the population can defecate in closed places, thus preventing the spread of the disease virus. The materials were delivered via the Multisectoral Technical Group for the Treatment of Sources, Supply and Monitoring of Water Quality.
