Africa-Press – Angola. The Credit Guarantee Fund (FGC) met a few days ago in Nairobi, Kenya, with the African Guarantee Fund (AGF), with the aim of jointly structuring financial products aimed at supporting micro, small and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs). The initiative was part of a series of meetings that the FGC has held since 21 April with several similar institutions in Kenya, in a mission aimed at sharing experiences and identifying opportunities for regional cooperation.
The FGC delegation, led by the Chairman of the Board of Directors, Luzayadio Simba, was received by the Business Development Director of the Southwest Region of the AGF, Nicole Muia.
The manager expressed appreciation for the results achieved by the FGC in supporting micro-entrepreneurship, with emphasis on the portfolio of guarantees made available to microcredit companies.The partnership between the FGC and AGF, established in 2023, has been consolidating, mainly in the creation of more effective, sustainable and inclusive financing mechanisms, capable of responding to the challenges faced by Micro, Small and Medium-sized enterprises in Angola.
Exchange of experiences
The Credit Guarantee Fund (FGC) also held a meeting with the manager of the Kenya Credit Guarantee Scheme, Ronald Indimuli, with a view to exchanging experiences.
During the meeting, which also aimed to analyze good practices in supporting the financing of Micro, Small and Medium-sized Enterprises, the two institutions shared experiences on credit guarantee models, risk assessment methodologies, coverage percentages, and monitoring and follow-up strategies for financed projects.
The FGC delegation also met with the Business and Customer Director of Stanbic Bank, Florence Wanja. At the end, there was a meeting with Kenyan entrepreneurs who benefit from financing with guarantees.
This meeting allowed the FGC delegation to learn more about specific success stories and the monitoring mechanisms used.
