Africa-Press – Angola. “The Ballerina”, which portrays the importance of dreams in childhood, is the theme of the children’s play to be shown tomorrow, at 4:00 pm, at Elinga Teatro, by Companhia Arte Cénica. Framed in the celebrations of International Workers’ Day, celebrated on May 1st, the scene tells the story of Sofia, a teenager who dreams of being a successful ballerina and traveling the world through dance, but sees her dream interrupted by her father, who has other plans for her.
In 45 minutes, the drama, which takes place in the teenager’s home, is a warning to parents to support their children’s dreams, because the lack of parental support can harm the relationship between parents and children, creating an atmosphere of tension and distrust in the home.
According to the group’s leader, Dilson Miguel, parental discouragement can contribute to the development of anxiety, depression and other mental health problems, especially if children feel isolated and without the support of their parents.
For Dilson Miguel, parental support helps children learn from their mistakes and not give up on their dreams when faced with obstacles. “Without this support, they may have difficulty dealing with failure and feel discouraged,” he said.
