Africa-Press – Angola. The second commander-general of the National Police, chief commissioner Domingos Ferreira de Andrade, highlighted, the fundamental role of the institution’s Academy in the technical-professional training of the personnel, to guarantee public safety.
The commissioning officer was speaking in the municipality of Baía-Farta, during the presentation of the new director of the Santana Police Academy André Pitra ‘Petrof’, commissioner Soba Domingos Quilulu.
According to the commissioning officer, who asked for effective collaboration with the new leader of Acadepol, the institution is a center of knowledge par excellence that should have the agenda as a good example.
To this end, he said, the command and the trainers must act in order to inspire and guide the trainees who attend the courses at the institution.
‘No less important is the influence to build trust, leadership, to encourage people to adopt positive behaviors’, he said.
He asked the new leadership of Acadepol to act with humility, recognize their limitations and the value of others, without feeling superior or inferior to anyone.
On the occasion, the new director of Acadepol, Commissioner Soba Domingos Quilulu, made it known that he will invest in the implementation of a set of actions that enhance the improvement of the quality of training processes.
‘We will pay special attention to rigor, discipline, valuing the teaching staff with the creation of effective accommodation and working conditions, as well as the presentation of objective proposals for the development of training, with emphasis on technical-professional training’, he said.
He stressed that the lines of force of his mandate will be based on seven fundamental axes: change, unity, transparency, justice, humanism, cooperation and institutional development.
The official explained that the proposed change does not mean a break with the past, but a positive evolution that will be guided by planning, dialogue and respect for the history of the Academy, always in alignment with the vision of the superstructure of the National Police and the training needs adapted to contemporary society.
Soba Domingos Quilulu also argued that, in order to build a healthy environment and a solid and contextualized training platform, it is necessary to create scenarios that favor the trust and commitment of the staff, as well as the institution’s training community.
‘This must result from upright and transparent attitudes on the part of all agents involved in the training process’, he emphasized.
On the other hand, the commissioner officer promised to fight for the valorization of the professional competence of human capital, meritocracy, patriotism and professional harmony, for the stabilization of strategies and contextualization of Acadepol’s training processes.
The outgoing director, Commissioner Manuel Fernandes, who now assumes the position of national director of the Tax and Customs Police, said he left with the sentence of mission accomplished during the five years he was at the helm of the institution.
For him, it was a great honor to serve the National Police at the head of the Academy, which allowed him greater professional and human maturation.
He thanked the support provided by the Police Academy team, from senior officers, juniors, agents and civilian workers.
On the occasion, the deputy director of the academy, sub-commissioner Ezequiel Ufolo António, was also presented.
The ceremony was marked with a graduation of the troops on parade, delivery of the banner to the new director, as well as a parade of the forces.
