Africa-Press – Angola. The second edition of the International Theater Festival opens its doors to the public on the 25th of this month and runs until the 26th of June, at Elinga Teatro, in Luanda, in a promotion by the theater group Etu-Ngo and Casa Rebita.
To be held as part of the cultural project “FestÁfrica”, this year the festival counts with the participation of the groups Protevida, Atelier D’arte Lucengomono, Olombangui, Horizonte Njinga Mbande, Félix Teatro, SOS Teatro, Amor à Arte, Affro Theatro , Kulonga Teatro, Invasão Cénica, Amazonas Teatro and Ombaka The groups honored in this edition are Miragens, Ombaka and Kulonga.
The executive director of the group and the festival, Luciana dos Santos “Lubeck”, told yesterday that the festival is of an international nature and aims annually “to bring together in a single space, several groups, for the exchange of experience in for the development of the performing arts in the country”.
The festival, he added, also aims to promote exchanges between national and international groups and companies. Since the first edition, he explained, the festival has encouraged artistic creation, especially those that value the customs of African peoples. “We intend to have a harmonious interaction between the organization, groups and the public”, he highlighted.
While the festival takes place, he stressed, seminars and lectures on staging techniques, contemporary performing arts and the production of shows will also be promoted.
The criteria for selecting the groups, he said, are more related to their path, as well as the production of shows, in particular those related to African customs.
