President João Lourenço Engages with 300 African Children

Africa-Press – Angola. President João Lourenço and the First Lady, Ana Dias Lourenço, participate in in a festive gathering with over 300 children from various African countries on Saturday in the Sambizanga municipality, Luanda.

The initiative, carried out as part of the “Roda do Amor” project, is part of the Children’s Month celebrations and consisted of a musical show featuring children from the “Espaço Aplausos – Mais Cultura, Mais Cidadania” program in the municipality of Sequele, as well as students from schools in Sambizanga, including several special education schools.

The cultural entertainment is marked by a fusion of classical music and traditional African rhythms, performed by the Camunga Orchestra, offering the audience a unique sound experience representative of the continent’s diversity.

It includes performances by the choral groups “Umbi Umbi,” “Máxima,” and “Filhas de África,” as well as performances by the dance group “Vindjombinhas,” a parade of traditional African costumes, and an artistic performance symbolizing the unity of the peoples of the continent.

João Lourenço, as president of the African Union, and the First Lady, Ana Dias Lourenço, are expected to visit the stands symbolizing the 54 countries of the continent.

This symbolic moment reinforces the Head of State’s commitment to valuing childhood and promoting African culture as a tool for inclusion and citizenship.
