Africa-Press – Angola. The Extended Advisory Council of the Ministry of the Interior (MININT) “noted with satisfaction” the collection of 30,894 weapons of war in the possession of private security companies (about 77 percent of the total), 128 days after the start of the process and dismantled 41 clandestine cryptocurrency mining centers.
This is expressed in the final communiqué of the two-day Ordinary Meeting of the Extended Advisory Council of MININT, held under the motto “With our eyes on patriotic and professional strengthening, let us value the achievements made, towards the improvement of public order and security,”
During the meeting, the Council decided, among other things, to shape the MININT’s legislative package to improve the organizational and functional structure of its bodies, to reinforce the implementation of the Commitment and Value Program, Path to Institutional Excellence, aiming at the ethical, disciplinary, and patriotic strengthening of the staff.”
The members of the Council also recommended “the intensification of prevention and awareness-raising actions among the population, with a view to the continued reduction of road accident rates, which continue to be a concern for society.”
Participants praised the commitment, dedication, and spirit of mission demonstrated by MININT personnel in securing the United States-Africa Business Summit, reinforcing their responsibility in securing the large-scale activities still to be carried out within the framework of the 50th anniversary of national independence.
The two day meeting analyzed the country’s public security situation from January to May of this year, which was considered stable, characterized by an 8.9 percent reduction in overall crime compared to the same period last year, among other topics discussed.
