The session will discuss and renew strategies for the common objectives of the continent’s 2063 Agenda.
According to a press release, Angola will be represented by the Foreign Minister, Téte António, in his capacity as Chairperson of the Executive Council of the African Union.
This event is considered a significant milestone for the integration process and the consolidation of coordinated diplomatic action among member states.
The document states that the work of the 47th Session will be organized in three phases namely the public session, which includes the opening ceremony, with interventions by entities from the host country and AU structures; a closed-door session dedicated to reviewing the working documents of the AU bodies; and the election and appointment of new members of the continental organization’s bodies.
This is the first ordinary session of the Executive Council since Angola assumed the rotating Presidency of the AU.
