Africa-Press – Angola. The team of the Academica de Luanda won Petro de Luanda on Sunday, in Lobito, for 8-3, in a game of the final of the Angola Cup in roller hockey.
The game took place in the multipurpose pavilion of the Casa do Pessoal do Porto do Lobito, with a sold-out capacity (618 seated spectators).
At halftime, the score was already 2-1, in favor of Academica de Luanda, due to better tactics and fewer failures.
The opposing team gave a good response, until just above the beginning of the second half, but as time passed, Academica was showing its superiority.
Petro performed well at the beginning and was also in time to win the match, if it weren’t for the lack of concentration in the decisive moments, as well as their weak defense.
At the end of the match, the coach of Academica de Luanda, Alberto Domingos, congratulated his athletes and he said that the team was prepared to win the match.
“We had a good season in which we went to four finals: we won two and lost two others”, he said.
The coach also said that, although the team has new boys, its strategy is the same. “We will continue to work”, he emphasized.
His counterpart from Petro de Luanda, Pedro Magalhães, justified, in a few words, the defeat with the bad defensive posture that the team presented.
He admitted that the season did not go well, because he hoped to win at least this competition.
He promised, however, to appear with a different attitude next season.
This is the twenty-second final of the Angolan Cup in roller hockey.
