Africa-Press – Angola. The President of Senegal, Macky Sall, pointed out, yesterday, while speaking, in an extraordinary session, in the National Assembly, industrialization and the energy transition as the main challenges for the economic and social growth of the African continent.

Macky Sall, who shared his ideas on the state of the continent with the Angolan deputies, as part of the 72- hour state visit to the country, acknowledged, by the way, that Africa is quite behind in the industrialization and electrification process, having highlighted that more than 600 million Africans live without electricity. “The real challenge of today is the energy transition, and countries must start quickly with the industrialization process to ensure their sustainable growth”, said the also acting president of the African Union (AU). Bearing in mind, in this condition, that the continent remains engaged in the fight against global warming, in accordance with the Paris Agreement on Climate.

The Senegalese Head of State said that the common future of the peoples of the continent lies in the preservation of cultural values ​​and civilization, therefore appealing to African leaders to do everything to ensure that Africa is free from the abyss of war and the destruction of the environment. .

In defending the equality and dignity of African peoples, President Macky Sall said that the plans drawn up by the continent must have greater expression in the United Nations Security Council, as a way of promoting the sustainable growth of the African continent.

Macky Sall expressed satisfaction at visiting Angola, “especially for the respect he has for the founding President of the Angolan Nation, Dr. António Agostinho Neto, who played an important role in the process of fighting for the independence of African countries.
