Africa-Press – Angola. Interclube coach Roque Sapiri stated this Friday in Luanda that the team will have to redouble its defensive and offensive responsibilities in light of its commitments for the 2025-26 season.
Speaking to the press after the match in which the “Police” team defeated Redondo FC of Bengo 2-1 at the 22 de Junho Stadium, he stated that blatant mistakes were made, unacceptable in high-level competition.
In the squad’s presentation match, the coach praised the result but emphasized that preparation needs to be more intense, given the proximity of the start of official competitions.
“Winning is always important, because the players have a different disposition when they win, and that helps maintain the competitive rhythm,” he said.Sapiri took advantage of the game to observe the group, giving some players more than 60 minutes to evaluate them individually.
For the coach, it’s important for the player to understand what the coaching staff really wants from him.
The coach highlighted the composition of the squad, which combines youth and others with more experience.
“We have players under 20, who still need to grow, and players like Paizo, 33, who brings a lot of experience,” he added.
Regarding the season’s objectives, the coach simply said that he will strive to win as many games as possible and that the team must perform at a high level.
