Africa-Press – Angola. The Secretary of State for Mineral Resources, Jânio Correa Victor, reaffirmed, Thursday, in Luanda, that Angola advocates being a mining country of excellence, with a view to boosting its economy, expanding the tax base and satisfying collective needs.
When speaking at the closing of the Angola International Mining Conference (AIMC 2025), which took place on the 22nd and 23rd, the official stressed that, to achieve this goal, the country makes use of its numerous mineral occurrences, evidenced as a result of surveys and work involved in different stages of its history.
On the occasion, he guaranteed the continued support of the Ministry of Mineral Resources, Oil and Gas to operators and everyone involved in the multiple value chains of the extractive sector, to increase production and attract more investments on a global scale.
The International Mining Conference (AIMC 2025) took place under the motto ‘Strengthening Mining Investment Opportunities at a Global Level in Angola’ and aimed to create an environment conducive to investment, through the promotion of strategic partnerships between national and foreign investors, as well as mapping investment opportunities in the sector and related services, stimulating investor interest and confidence.
For two days, the event brought together business leaders, analysts, national and foreign investors, as well as 40 exhibitors.
The event, promoted by the Ministry of Mineral Resources, Oil and Gas, focused on addressing topics such as “Financing the Future: Attracting Investment to Angola”, “Critical Minerals and Economic Diversification in Africa – Ensuring a Just Transition”, “Leadership and Investment: Private Sector Intervention in the Mining Industry”, “External Risks, Fiscal Terms, Governance and Regulation”, “Evolution of the Industry Mineira: Strengthen Angola’s Role in the Global Market”, among others.
During the activity, the activity of the Chamber of Mines was also made official and the Digital Mining Registry of Angola (CMA) was launched.
