Africa-Press – Angola. Activist Elsa Luvumbo was elected, this Saturday in Luanda, as the new municipal secretary of Cazenga for the Angolan Women’s Organization (OMA), during an assembly for review and renewal of mandates.
The event, which was attended by 277 delegates, took place in an atmosphere of great participation and democratic spirit, in which the winner obtained the equivalent of 51% of the valid votes.
In statements to the press, the new municipal secretary of the OMA promised to work to promote entrepreneurship to combat unemployment, especially among women.
Elsa Luvumbo also promised to work with young people so that in the future they can continue the efforts to ensure that the MPLA continues to be victorious.
During this assembly for the renewal of mandates of the MPLA women’s organization, the OMA Municipal Committee and delegates to the eighth ordinary congress of the OMA, to be held in 2026, were also elected.According to the event organizers, the election process took place in an atmosphere of harmony, unity, and a sense of mission, reflecting the delegates’ commitment to the organization’s values and to strengthening the role of Angolan women in social, political, and community development.
