Adalberto Costa JúNior Seeks to Convince UNITA Voters in Bengo

Africa-Press – Angola. UNITA’s presidential candidate, Adalberto Costa Júnior, worked Saturday, in Bengo province as part of preparatory activities for the XIV Ordinary Congress.

After the provinces of Malanje, Cuanza Norte, and Icolo e Bengo, the candidate now seeks to convince the electorate of Bengo province to support his re-election as president of UNITA.

On Sunday, Adalberto Costa Júnior will campaign in Luanda province.

In statements to the press, the politician explained that he came to Bengo to share the contents of his candidacy program and his strategic thinking for the party and the country.

He emphasized that in the province he spoke with the elected delegates who will represent the province at the congress and reported to UNITA militants in Bengo.“The most important thing is to be available to meet the expectations, to what the citizen and the militant expect from us, and that this allows us to improve the content of our program,” he said.

Adalberto Costa Júnior welcomed the candidacy of Rafael Massanga Savimbi, emphasizing that it was necessary for others to present themselves in order to guarantee plurality within the UNITA party.

“UNITA has always fought for congresses with multiple candidates. For us, plurality is not division, it is richness,” he stressed.

He considered the UNITA congress a stepping stone towards achieving power through democratic means.

Two candidates are running for the presidency of UNITA, namely Rafael Massanga Savimbi, son of the party’s founder Jonas Savimbi, and Adalberto Costa Júnior, who is seeking a second term at the head of the black rooster party.

The 14th ordinary congress of UNITA will take place from November 28th to 30th of this year in Luanda, and will elect the party’s new president.
