Angolan Leader Congratulates Re-Elected Tanzanian President

Africa-Press – Angola. Angolan Head of State João Lourenço on Monday sent a message of congratulations to the re-elected President of Tanzania, Samia Suluhu Hassan, for the victory achieved in the presidential elections held on October 29th.

In the message, made public by the Press Services of the Presidency of the Republic, the Statesman expresses, on behalf of the Angolan Executive and himself, his satisfaction with the “electoral result that reflects the Tanzanian people’s recognition of the governance efforts developed” by President Samia Hassan, with a view to consolidating peace, stability and socioeconomic development in the country.

“The Tanzanian people approve of the governance efforts developed by Your Excellency, aimed at consolidating the necessary conditions for the development of Tanzania, where harmony between the living forces of your nation imposes itself as a factor of fundamental exemplarity”, reads the letter.

João Lourenço also expressed his conviction that Angola and Tanzania will continue to work together to strengthen friendly and cooperative relations, both at bilateral level and within the scope of the Southern African Development Community (SADC).

The Angolan statesman concludes his message by wishing President Samia Suluhu Hassan good health and success in carrying out her duties, reaffirming Angola’s commitment to continuing to promote a constructive dialogue and a solid partnership with Tanzania, “for the benefit of the well-being and prosperity of both peoples”.
