Africa-Press – Angola. “Social Networks, the Right to Information and the Privacy of Life” is the first literary work by journalist Fidel Custodio, launched on Friday in the city of Huambo, with the aim of contributing to the province’s bibliographic collection.
The work leaves open the discussion on the role of social networks, the right to information, privacy, and the consequences of internet use in a community or society with declining ethical and moral values.
It proposes solutions for the correct use of the internet, in order to prevent negative episodes that threaten human life in communities, as well as the preservation of personal data, avoiding cyberattacks on social networks with open systems in terms of information availability.
In statements, journalist Fidel CustoĢdio, from the RNA group’s broadcaster in Huambo province, said that technological advancement demands the use of social networks, and these are structured in an increasingly democratized environment. For this reason, good education and knowledge of them for responsible use become fundamental.
He explained that the use of digital platforms is growing exponentially worldwide, but this evolution has been disproportionate to concrete education programs. Therefore, various situations of violations of fundamental rights are recorded through social networks, articulated in a democratized environment.
He argued that the Data Protection Agency is insufficient to prevent the violation of these rights, but a well-structured and targeted education with ethical principles is necessary to prevent inhumane acts on social networks.
The writer suggested the implementation of a digital literacy program for the correct use of social networks and the prevention of human rights violations.
