Africa-Press – Angola. More than forty athletes have confirmed their participation in the regional gala of Mixed Martial Arts, set to kick off this Thursday in Mussungue area (north-eastern Lunda Norte Province), in the ambit of the celebrations of the country’s 50th Anniversary of Independence, to be marked on 11 November.
Speaking to journalists, Edson Calala, linked to the provincial department for youth and sports, revealed that besides Lunda Norte Province other athletes from the provinces of Lunda-Sul, Moxico and Malanje have also confirmed their presence, mainly in sports like boxing, judo and karate-do
He explained that the gala will involve athletes aged between 15 and 35 years.
According to the official, the gala is also part of the policies intended to promote MMA in the province, which includes the rehabilitation and construction of sports infrastructures.
