Africa-Press – Angola. The Angolan government will continue to work towards building a more modern country, capable of empowering itself, planning and developing according to the possibilities of each context, stated the acting governor of Bié province, José Fernando Tchatuvela, on Tuesday.
In statements to the press during a fireworks display held in the early hours of Tuesday in the city of Cuito, Tchatuvela considered that all the achievements reached by the government have contributed to the well-being of all.He described the youth as the main pillar of the desired development through their innovative and intellectual capacity, a result of their self-determination in all moments of struggle, appealing to them to preserve the achievements already attained.
On that occasion, the citizens of Cuito present at the site joined the interim governor to advocate for the preservation of all the gains of the Angolan people during the 50 years of National Independence, in order to honor the bravery of the heroes of November 11, 1975.
Fábio Vieira, 38, present at Largo 1o de Maio, invited the people of Bié to preserve national sovereignty by defending all the achievements already attained in the country.
In turn, Maria Alice da Costa praised the contribution of the founder of the Nation, António Agostinho Neto, and other key figures in the struggle for the liberation of the people who lived oppressed for many years.The young university student also highlighted the need to preserve public property as a way to value all the achievements the country has made during these 50 years of Independence.
The moment was experienced with nostalgia by hundreds of citizens who watched a 30-minute fireworks display.
