Africa-Press – Angola. Angolan president, João Lourenço, sent on Thursday a congratulatory message to Alassane Dramane Ouattara on his re-election as president of Côte d’Ivoire.
In a message published by the Press Office of the Presidency of the Republic, President João Lourenço expressed his satisfaction at Alassane Ouattara’s re-election. He emphasised that the electoral process had taken place in an atmosphere of serenity and civility, which reinforced the democratic maturity of the Ivorian people.
The Angolan statesman considers the election result to be ‘a clear sign of renewed confidence’ in Côte d’Ivoire’s leader, recognising his role in promoting development, stability, and social progress in the African nation.
President Lourenço also wished President Ouattara every success, assuring him of Angola’s commitment to further strengthening the bonds of friendship and cooperation between the two countries and peoples within the framework of their shared goals of integration and growth on the African continent.
