Africa-Press – Angola. An exhibition portraying the national cultural diversity, entitled “Angola, One Culture and One People,” opened on Monday in Caracas, Venezuela, as part of the cultural week about the country.

According to a press release from the Angolan Consulate General in Caracas sent on Tuesday, the exhibition, on display at the Metropolitan University of Caracas, will be open to the public until March 6th of this year.

It states that visitors will have the opportunity to explore Angola’s cultural diversity, as well as appreciate the beauty of various handcrafted works by Angolan artists.

According to the note, the event aims to celebrate the “rich” Angolan cultural heritage and promote intercultural dialogue.

The event was attended by the diplomatic corps accredited to Venuzuela, members of the board of directors of the Metropolitan University, students and representatives of the Angolan community in Caracas.

At the opening of the exhibition, the consul general of Angola in Caracas, Mário Simão, invited those present to reflect on the role of culture as a factor of unity between people, in a globalized world, where respecting and valuing differences is essential for peaceful coexistence.

For her part, the rector of the Metropolitan University, Maria Isabel Guinand, reaffirmed the institution’s commitment to promoting knowledge and diversity, expressing gratitude for the collaboration between the two nations.
