Africa-Press – Angola. Petro de Luanda conceded a compromising 1-1 draw against Simba of Tanzania on Saturday (07) in Luanda, in a match corresponding to the 5th round of Group D of the African Champions League.

With this result, Petro de Luanda currently occupies 3rd place with 6 points, in the fight for a place in the next phase, remaining in the competition in a balanced group, which also includes Stade Malien and Esperança de Tunis.

The Angolans opened the scoring through central defender Pedro Pinto, in the 13th minute, after an assist from Benny Dias, while Simba equalized with a goal from Camara, in the 82nd minute, assisted by Loemba, both recently entered the match.

The team coached by Flávio Amado had more goal opportunities, but missed them all.

In the final stretch, Pedro Pinto (90′) almost scored the winning goal, but his shot was saved by goalkeeper Kassali.

Esperance de Tunis and Stade Malien play on Sunday (08) in the same group.

Stade Malien is in 1st place with 8 points, while Esperance is 2nd with 6.

Meanwhile, the national champion, Petro de Luanda, also had a goaless draw at home with Stade Malien, in the 4th round of the competition, on Jan 31st, at the same stadium.
