Africa-Press – Angola. The 2025 edition of the “Festikongo” report will be reviewed this Monday in Uíge province during the 1st Ordinary Session of the National Multisectoral Commission for the Safeguarding of World Cultural Heritage, chaired by the Vice-President of the Republic, Esperança da Costa.

The meeting’s agenda also includes, among other matters, the review of the Proposed Report on the Implementation of the World Heritage Committee’s Recommendations for Mbanza Kongo, on the Safeguarding of Cultural Heritage in Environmental Conservation Areas, and the Status Report on the Cultural Heritage of Uíge.

The meeting will also consider the provision of information on the implementation of the Tourism Plan and Hotel Availability for Mbanza Kongo.Esperança da Costa will also visit Kimpa Vita University, the construction site of the new Uíge General Hospital, and other educational establishments.

The National Multisectoral Commission for the Safeguarding of World Cultural Heritage is responsible for promoting the implementation of conservation programs and the participatory management of cultural heritage, taking into account the need to adopt special measures to monitor national cultural heritage of exceptional universal value.
