Africa-Press – Angola. The Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs, Esmeralda Mendonça, left Luanda this Friday for Helsinki, Republic of Finland, to participate in the XIX Meeting of Nordic Foreign Affairs Ministers with Africa.
The aforementioned meeting aims, among other things, to develop an informal dialogue at ministerial level, on matters related to Peace and Security, Sustainable Societies and Cooperation in Multilateral Fora, according to a press release from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs sent .
Esmeralda Mendonça, who is participating in this event on behalf of the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Téte António, should take the opportunity to analyze aspects related to bilateral cooperation between Angola and the Nordic countries, as well as current multilateral issues.
The XIX Meeting of Nordic Foreign Ministers with Africa is an informal platform that addresses the most varied challenges of the international community, with emphasis on Peace and Security, Sustainable Development Goals, Fight against Terrorism, Migration, Human Rights, Equality of the Genre.
The Nordic countries are a region of Northern Europe and the North Atlantic, made up of Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway and Sweden, and the autonomous regions of the Faroe Islands, the Åland archipelago and Greenland.
The region of five nation-states and three autonomous regions share a common history as well as cultural and social affinities in their respective societies, reflected in political systems and the Nordic model.
Politically, the Nordic countries do not form a separate entity, but cooperate within the framework of the Nordic Council and, to a lesser extent, the European Union.
