Africa-Press – Angola. The first provincial secretary of the MPLA in Uíge, José Carvalho da Rocha, reaffirmed this Thursday the party’s commitment to maintaining close contact with its base and the population, in order to better understand their problems and help solve them.

The leader was speaking during the opening of the VIII Ordinary Plenary Session of the party’s Provincial Committee, which will approve the program of activities to be carried out until the next ordinary meeting of the party’s Provincial Committee and evaluate the report of activities developed during the previous year.

During his address, the politician also appealed for internal cohesion and continued support for the party leader, João Lourenço, for the efforts he has made to improve the lives of citizens.He also highlighted the party’s growth in the province, citing the statistics presented in the meeting documents.

For this reason, he reaffirmed the party’s commitment to continue working on mobilization, aiming at the entry of new members into the organization.

The meeting also served to review and approve the decisions from the VII Ordinary Plenary Session, the degree of execution of the 2025 Activity Plan, the Activity Report developed by the party in 2025, the Activity Plan to be developed in 2026, among other points.

The VIII Ordinary Plenary Session of the MPLA Provincial Committee in Uíge was attended by members of the Provincial Committee, resident members of the Provincial Committee, deputy coordinators of the monitoring group of the Secretary of the Political Bureau of the party in the province of Uíge, among others.
