Africa-Press – Angola. The senior men’s national basketball team held a training session on Sunday (22) at the ISPTEC pavilion in Luanda, focused on tactical improvement, aiming for their participation in the 2nd qualifying window for the 2027 World Cup.

For about 2 hours, coach Pep Clarós was very involved in correcting the positioning and movement on the court of the 15 players present, including forward-center Macachi Braz and center Eduardo Francisco, from Spain and Portugal, respectively.

The group is scheduled to travel to Alexandria on Monday (23), where they will compete in the qualifying rounds from Feb 26th to March 1st against Uganda, Mali, and the host country, Egypt. The 2027 World Cup takes place in Qatar.

Speaking to the press at the end of the session, Pep Clarós said there is already a solid idea of what can be presented in the competition, although there may be adjustments after the final training session.

He considered the opponents difficult, noting that the national team only had eight to nine preparation days and did not have all players available, mainly those who play abroad.
