Africa-Press – Angola. The Angolan senior women’s national football team will face Malawi on Tuesday at 2 pm at the Seshego Stadium in Polokwane, South Africa, in a match that will determine which team will remain in the Council of Southern Africa Football Associations (COSAFA) Cup.
Angola is in Group A, with three points, resulting from one win and one loss (zero goal difference), Angola could reach six points in case of a victory.
The tournament rules state that, in addition to the top teams from each group, only the best second-placed team from the three groups (A, B, and C) advances to the semi-finals.
According to historical records, the two teams faced each other three times last year, with two wins for Malawi and one draw.
Malawi beat Angola in the second qualifying round for the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON), 2-0, after a goalless draw in the first leg in Luanda.
In last year’s COSAFA tournament, Malawi prevailed, winning 1-0 in the group stage.
In October 2025, the two teams drew 0-0, in the qualifiers for the Africa Cup of Nations.
