Africa-Press – Angola. The Border Guard Police recorded at least 15 attempts to violate the Angolan land and river border in the last seven days, resulting in the arrest of 35 citizens of the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC).
Compared to the same period of the previous week, the corporation recorded four fewer cases of border violation.
The data was presented on Friday by the local National Police spokesperson, Chief Superintendent Freitas Zama, during the presentation of the update on the operational situation in the region.
The officer clarified that the detention of the illegal immigrants occurred at the border posts of Kimbata, Sabango and Beu Fiscal, in the municipality of Maquela do Zombo, Mucumbi I, Kindaca and Kilonda, in the municipality of Massau, and the naval posts of Cuilo, Cuango, Camuamga, in Quimbele.
Chef Zama stated that after the immigration formalities, the illegal immigrants were sent back to their country of origin.
