Africa-Press – Angola. The 1st International Congress on “Science, Innovation and Development of Lusofonia”, which began on Wednesday, in the city of Mindelo, island of São Vicente (Cape Verde), is scheduled to close Friday -fair.

Scheduled for 4pm (6pm in Angola), the closing session will be chaired by the Prime Minister of Cape Verde, José Ulisses Correia e Silva.

Promoted by the Lusófona University of Cape Verde, the opening ceremony was presided over by the President of the Republic of Cape Verde, José Neves, and also included the intervention of the Vice-President of Angola, Esperança da Costa, representing the PR, João Lourenço.

The event is aimed at researchers, academics, decision-makers, university students and postgraduates from Portuguese-speaking countries, who work in their countries or in the diaspora.

Angola, of the total of 150 researchers at the event, has an active participation of 46 lecturers from the most diverse areas of science and innovation, of which 10 present the lectures in the face-to-face format.

Researchers from Guinea-Bissau, Equatorial Guinea, Macau, Angola, Cape Verde and Portugal participate in person and online, while from Brazil, Mozambique and São Tomé and Príncipe participate only in the online format.

Taking place in a hybrid format (online and in-person) under the motto “Assuming its role as a promoter of knowledge”, the event is promoting reflection on the blue economy, renewable energy, digital transition, new information and communication technologies, among other themes.

The program includes academic actions and activities, with a focus on international conferences.
