Africa-Press – Angola. Seven thousand and 500 internal scholarships, of which six thousand for undergraduate and 1,500 for postgraduate studies, will be made available this year, by the Executive, announced Tuesday, in Luanda, the Secretary of State for Higher Education.
Eugénio Silva told, at the end of a meeting he had with representatives of the National Institute for the Management of Scholarships (INAGBE) and managers of some public and private higher education institutions, that the country currently has 21,000 scholarship holders. internal.
Regarding the meeting, he added that the problems that caused the delay in the validation of scholarships for some students were analyzed and, consequently, solutions were found to minimize their negative effect.
He guaranteed that, in the next 15 days, the situation of arrears on domestic stock exchanges will be regularized.
He clarified that alleged internal issues at the institutions prevented the renewal of scholarships for more than 500 students.
In turn, the director of the National Institute for the Management of Scholarships, Milton Chivala, without mentioning the names, mentioned that three institutions are in a worrying situation, as they have the largest number of students whose scholarships have not yet been validated.
He recalled that the validation and renewal process should be completed in December 2021, but, for various reasons, it is expected to be completed only in the next few days.
