Abuja hosts Summit of Heads of State and Government of the Gulf of Guinea Commission

Africa-Press – Angola. The federal capital of Nigeria, Abuja, will host on the 13th of this month, by videoconference, the 5th Ordinary Session of the Summit of Heads of State and Government of the Gulf of Guinea Commission with a deeper look at its Geostrategic importance in Africa .

To give substance to the Summit, which will dedicate particular attention to the political and economic stability of the Gulf of Guinea, experts from the member countries that make up the Commission, begin this Wednesday, the preparatory meetings of specialties.

On the agenda will be discussion of the Report of the 11th Ordinary Session of the Council of Ministers held in Abuja on 20 November 2019 and the reassessment of the degree of fulfillment of the planned activities.

The Committee of Experts will update the Plan of Action for the period 2022/23, the status of contributions from Member States that have a financial outstanding estimated at more than USD 25 Million, budget proposals and the end of term of the current Executive Committee of the Gulf of Guinea Commission and the election of a new Executive Committee.

On Friday, the meeting of the Council of Ministers of the Gulf of Guinea Commission begins, at its level, to reassess the reports of the Commission of Experts to be submitted to the Summit of Heads of State and Government.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Téte António, is expected this Thursday, in Abuja, Nigeria, to participate in the meeting of the Council of Ministers of the CGG.
