Africa-Press – Angola. The management of the club Académica do Lobito distances itself from the controversy of alleged acts of corruption involving the coach of the main football team, Agostinho Tramagal.
A statement released on the facebook page, refers to the club being surprised by the audio leaked on Friday on social media reporting a possible deal between the coach, Petro de Luanda and Kabuscorp.
“If this is true, the management of Académica do Lobito informs that it does not condone such practices and vehemently rejects any attempt to influence or manipulate game results”, it reads.
Referring to Agostinho Tramagal as a former coach, the community expresses willingness to cooperate with the Angolan Football Federation and with the justice bodies to ascertain the veracity of the facts.
Hired in the 2022-23 season, the coach placed the Benguela team in eighth place in the competition, with 35 points, and lost the final of the Angola Cup against Petro de Luanda.
The audio reveals facts about the victory of Académica do Lobito over 1.o de Agosto, by 1-0, where it is possible to hear the coach say that he received three million kwanzas from Petro de Luanda to win the game.
He explains that he will have kept one million and divided two million to the players at 100,000 kwanzas each.
“I won three million kwanzas from Petro de Luanda to win the 1st of August, and do you know how much they (the players) won, 100,000 each” he said.
On the same occasion, Agostinho Tramagal clarifies that he denied an offer from 1.o de Agosto of seven million kwanzas to let himself be lost and that he did everything to allow Kabuscorp do Palanca to win the match of the semi-final of the Angola Cup, what didn’t come to happen .
