Africa-Press – Angola. Angolan Head of State João Lourenço appointed Adão de Almeida as a member of the Council of the Republic on Monday.
According to a press release from the Press Services of the Presidency of the Republic, the decision is due to the nature of his duties.
In another decree, the Head of State terminates Carolina Cerqueira’s term as a member of the aforementioned advisory body, following her replacement as leader of Parliament.
Adão de Almeida was elected today, Monday, as president of the National Assembly, taking over the position previously held by Carolina Cerqueira.
