Africa-Press – Angola. The municipal administrator of Icolo e Bengo, Nelson Funete, highlighted the willingness of the company that produces table water, juices, soft drinks and sweets, PERLA, to employ local young people.
According to the administrator, aside from a visit to the company to strengthen relations between both, this institution in particular has been of great value in providing jobs to a considerable number of young locals.
Nelson Funete appealed to other companies based in the municipality to take into account the need to create jobs for Angolans and, in particular, for young people from Icolo and Bengo.
In operation since 2007, the company PERLA employs 400 workers, 25 of whom are expatriates and plans to hire another 100 by the end of this year, to reach 500 professionals.
According to the person responsible for the company, Khater Khater, the next ones to be hired will ensure the new water filling line to be set up in the coming months.
At the moment, more than seven filling lines for water, soft drinks and juices are in operation. French fries are another product produced by the company.
The municipality of Icolo e Bengo has a considerable business park, with emphasis on ceramics and cement factories.
