Africa-Press – Angola. The African League opens tuesday, at 9:00 am, at the Lusíada University of Angola, a three-day symposium to debate the importance of national culture, as part of the celebrations of the 50th anniversary of National Independence.
The debate has as its theme “African League – Embryo of Angolan Nationalism”, and is expected to bring together academics Carlos Mariano Manuel, Eduarda Valente, António Quino and David Capelenguela, moderated by Kiala Gabriel. The symposium continues tomorrow at Jean Piaget University, starting at 9 am, in a round table composed of musician Carlos Lamartine and academics Pedro Rosa and Constância Ceita, who will be joined by journalist and editor Arlindo Isabel, who will debate the Angolan songbook. With the theme “Culture Strengthens the Nation and the Personality of the Angolan Citizen”, the third panel will have as speakers António José Augusto, Abreu Paxe and António Fonseca, on Thursday, at 9 am, at the Faculty of Social and Human Sciences of the Agostinho Neto University.A Public Utility Institution, the century-old African League welcomed leading figures of Angolan nationalism who were cornerstones in the construction of Angola as an independent nation.
