Afrikanizm launches exhibition "Intersections"

Africa-Press – Angola. The exhibition “Intersections”, a set of paintings by Afrikanizm Art and Face Studio, will be launched this Saturday at the Marina Yacht Club.

Rómulo Santa Rita, Walter Fernandes, Joyce Jazz, Armanda Alves, Wilson Bellas, Mumpasi Meso, Erika Jâmece, Lino Damião and Bolondo are the artists who will exhibit their works.

The exhibition will remain open until the 21st of May, as a way to make known the works of Angolan artists who are going beyond the boundaries of traditional artistic conventions, thus exploring the dynamic and innovative world of contemporary African art.

In a note sent the organization advances that, through their works of art, these artists explore the intersection of different media, from painting to collage and use a variety of techniques to express their ideas.

Creators explore themes such as identity, social issues and cultural heritage, reflecting on the complex history of Angola and its people.

“Intersection is a place where different styles, mediums and generations intersect to create the future of contemporary African art. It is a space where the old and the new come together to form a unique blend of creative expression that speaks to the present and the future”, reads the curatorial text of the exhibition.

It argues that this intersection is not just about art, it is also about the people behind it. Artists’ different professional paths and varied identities intersect here to create a new shared space where they can collaborate, inspire each other and expand their creativity.

The result is a vibrant and diverse art scene. Through their work, these artists challenge stereotypes and break down barriers by showing the world the depth and richness of African culture and creativity.
