The chairman of the Board of Directors of the Angolan Private Investment and Export Promotion Agency (AIPEX), Lello Francisco, praised the employability process at Companhia Siderúrgica do Cuchi (CSC), which currently has 1,600 young people, of the more than five thousand planned.
Lello João Francisco was speaking this Thursday, during a guided tour of the pig iron production factory.
He mentioned that the process corresponds to the Executive’s expectations of reducing the youth unemployment rate.
The CSC factory was officially opened on August 31st of the current year. currently produces an average of 160 tons of ore/day for processing pig iron, out of the 230 tons daily initially planned.
The AIPEX PCA highlighted that it is a positive project and will be a valuable contribution to the export diversification process, as well as making it possible to raise foreign exchange, as it is also focused on the aspect of sending the final product abroad.
Lello Francisco recalled that the Companhia Siderúrgica do Cuchi project was approved privately and supported by AIPEX.
Companhia Siderúrgica do Cuchi (CSC) has already produced more than 19 thousand tons of pig iron and transported it to the commercial port in the province of Namibe, whose final destination is the markets of the United States of America and China.
According to the company’s general director, Wilton Reis de Oliveira, in terms of forest repopulation, the company has, since 2022, had a nursery with more than 35 thousand eucalyptus plant seedlings, whose land for plantation has already been identified.
