Africa-Press – Angola. The Angolan Private Investment and Export Promotion Agency (AIPEX) presented, this Monday, in Luena, the “Single Investment Window (JUI)” program, a mechanism to facilitate investment.
The JUI, approved in 2020 by the Council of Ministers, aims, among other measures, to concentrate all legalization operations and processing of documents for national and foreign businesspeople at AIPEX for the creation of companies and implementation of investment projects, in a facilitated manner.
When speaking to the Press, after a seminar to publicize this document, the Executive Administrator of AIPEX, José Chijamba, maintained that, through the JUI, the intention is to centralize the operations inherent to the carrying out of private investment, facilitating investors to have access to the necessary services to the implementation of projects, in an unbureaucratic way.
With this program, he continued, AIPEX will support, through the JUI, the identification of the location for implementing the project and the respective legalization process, granting of exploration licenses and other useful documentation.
According to the person responsible, at this time, the Single Investment Window is being publicized in the country’s 18 provinces, having already passed in the provinces of Namibe, Huíla and later in Lunda Norte, Lunda Sul and other regions of the country.
On the occasion, the director of the Office of Studies, Planning and Statistics (GEPE), Osvaldo Dias, highlighted the importance of this program, stating that it could encourage the presence of several investors in a province, which he considers strategic from an investment point of view, as it is the port of entry and exit for goods from the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) and the Republic of Zambia.
AIPEX – Angola’s Private Investment and Export Promotion Agency is an institution dedicated to promoting exports, attracting private investment, registering investment proposals, institutional support and monitoring the execution of investment and internationalization projects for Angolan companies.
It was created under Presidential Decree No. 81/18, of March 19, 2018, resulting from the merger of the Technical Unit for Private Investment – UTIP and the Agency for Investment and Export Promotion of Angola – APIEX.
